What is mum and baby yoga?
It is a safe and nurturing place for you to connect with yourself, other mums and your baby. We honour your emotions and beautiful (often challenging…!) journey through motherhood. We start with breathing and mindfulness practices, move into physical yoga poses and finish with relaxation.
Why is mum and baby yoga good to try?
Pregnancy and childbirth can cause huge changes to your body – postnatal yoga focuses on realigning your spine and pelvis whilst re-strengthening your muscles. You’ll notice a decrease in back pain as your abdominals and pelvic floor strengthen, and any neck and shoulders tension release from breastfeeding. We also learn effective breathing and relaxation techniques you can take into the rest of your day which increases energy levels. It’s also an incredible new way to communicate and connect with your baby.
When are the classes and how does it work?
I design the classes in 6-week blocks and you can either book in for Mondays or Tuesdays, or both! All you need to do is show up with your baby, a mat and a blanket for your baby if you’d like. Mats and blankets are provided if necessary (we all forget sometimes…) but your own is preferable.
